  • Charis Loong's first chapter from her Master's research project co-authored with Dea van Lierop and Ahmed El-Geneidy was recently featured in City Lab, Next City, Science of US section of New York Magazine and Bustle Prof. El-Geneidy was interviewed by two news outlets in Canada about the same study.   • TRAM alumni Nithya Vijayakumar was the lead author of a new cycling study published by Pembina Institute. The study is titled Cycle Cities: Supporting cycling in Canadian cities. the study was featured in many news outlets across Canada for example Ottawa Citizen, Montreal Gazette, CBC British Columbia. and the Toronto Star.   • TRAM research on energy at school or work after a commute and the impact of commute on punctuality at school or work is featured in the French news. Also it was featured in CBC. The paper is accepted for presentation at the 95th Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting and authored by Charis Loong, Dea van Lierop and Ahmed El-Geneidy.   • TRAM research on transit fare equity has been featured in 24 hours . The paper is accepted for presentation at the Transportation Research Board Annual meeting in Washington DC. It is authored by David Verbich and Ahmed El-Geneidy. A copy of the paper can be found here.
  • TRAM research on stress due to commute has been featured in HuffPost Canada as well in City Lab . The same article was recently featured in Gizmodo. On April 1st 2015 Ehab defended his PhD dissertation titled "Urban public transportation systems: Understanding the impacts of service improvement strategies on service reliability and passenger’s perception." 2014
  • TRAM's research on commuting preferences has been featured in City Lab. The story is based on a paper, The Happy Commuter, written by Evelyne St-Louis, Kevin Manaugh, Dea van Lierop, and Ahmed El-Geneidy.
  • Colin Stewart has produced a new animation, 24 hours of transit in Greater Toronto, showing the movement of buses, streetcars, subways, and commuter trains over the course of one day in Greater Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Transit vehicles from five agencies are shown: the Toronto Transit Commission, York Region Transit, Miway Mississauga, Brampton Transit, and GO Transit.
  • TRAM members have won numerous awards for academic excellence. Alexander Legrain won the Jeanne M Wolfe Fellowship and the Institute for Health and Social Policy Research Fellowship, while Dea van Lierop won the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) Scholarship and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Doctoral Fellowship.   • Thanks to the Montreal cyclists who fill our surveys and help us in generating interesting research, Dea van Lierop's recent work from her master's on bicycle theft has been featured in The Atlantic Cities. The full article was recently accepted for publication in the International Journal of Sustainable Transportation. The title of the article is Breaking into Bicycle Theft: Insights from Montreal Canada, authors Dea van Lierop, Michael Grimsrud and Ahmed El-Geneidy.
